Orthodontic treatments in Waterbury, made for every age
From a child’s first check-up to discreet aligners for busy adults, every plan is custom-designed by an orthodontic specialist and explained in plain language.

Invisalign clear aligners
Straighten your teeth with removable, nearly invisible aligners — custom-made from a digital scan of your smile. No metal, no food restrictions, and you can see your results planned before you begin. A favorite with Waterbury teens and adults.
Most popular for adults

Metal braces
Today’s braces are smaller, smoother and more comfortable than ever — and still the most precise, affordable way to correct complex crowding and bite problems.

Clear braces
Tooth-colored ceramic brackets blend in with your smile while delivering all the reliability of traditional braces.

Retainers
Protect your investment. Custom fixed and removable retainers keep your teeth beautifully aligned long after your braces or aligners are done.

Early treatment for kids (ages 7–10)
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check-up by age 7. When needed, Phase 1 (two-phase) treatment guides jaw growth and makes room for adult teeth — often making later treatment shorter and simpler.

Teen orthodontics
Braces and Invisalign plans built around school, sports and busy schedules — with fun color options for braces.

Adult orthodontics
It’s never too late for a smile you love. Discreet clear braces and aligners fit seamlessly into your professional life.

FAQ
Orthodontic questions, answered
Straight answers about braces, Invisalign, cost and timing. Don’t see your question? We’re happy to help.
Ask us: (203) 575-8398How much do braces or Invisalign cost in Waterbury, CT?
Every smile is different, so your cost depends on the type of treatment and how long it takes. Nationally, comprehensive orthodontic treatment commonly ranges from about $3,000 to $8,000 before insurance. At your free consultation we’ll give you an exact price, check your insurance benefits and set up a flexible in-house payment plan if you’d like one.
Is the first consultation really free?
Yes. Your first visit — including an exam with an orthodontist, a discussion of your options and a cost estimate — is free, with no pressure and no obligation. You don’t need a referral from your dentist.
At what age should my child first see an orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check-up by age 7. Most children won’t need treatment that early, but a check-up lets us spot developing bite or jaw issues and recommend the ideal time to begin — sometimes avoiding more complex treatment later.
Should I choose braces or Invisalign?
Both straighten teeth beautifully. Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible and removable, which makes eating and brushing easy, but they need to be worn 20–22 hours a day. Braces work around the clock without relying on daily wear and are often the best choice for complex cases. Your orthodontist will recommend the option that fits your teeth and lifestyle.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Most comprehensive treatment with braces or Invisalign takes about 12 to 24 months, depending on the complexity of your case and how consistently aligners or elastics are worn. Minor corrections can be faster. You’ll get a personalized timeline at your consultation.
Am I too old for braces?
Not at all. Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, and many of our patients are adults. Clear braces and Invisalign make treatment discreet enough for any workplace.
Do you accept dental insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans that include orthodontic coverage and will help you understand and maximize your benefits. For any remaining balance, we offer flexible in-house payment plans.
What happened to iSmile Orthodontics in Waterbury?
iSmile Orthodontics’ Waterbury office is now Waterbury Orthodontics, part of the Georgetown Orthodontics family. We’re in the same location at 464 Reidville Dr., Suite A4, with the same phone number. Current patients can simply call us and we’ll help with the transition.
What should I do if a bracket breaks or a wire is poking?
Most orthodontic problems aren’t emergencies. Cover a poking wire or loose bracket with orthodontic wax and call us during office hours so we can schedule a quick repair. For a serious injury to the face or mouth, go to the nearest emergency room first.
